We recommend cleaning your system every 3 months however if the unit is used regularly, cleaning it monthly would certainly help keep the unit working at optimum performance.
Compatible for use with the majority of Macerator units including Saniflo

How to use Pro-Kleen Toilet Macerator:

Turn off the pump on the Macerator itself
Pour approximately 1.5-2 litres of the bottle down the toilet and flush
Allow it to stand for 2-3 hours or preferably overnight to allow a complete descale of the tank.
After this period, turn the Macerator back on and the system will be cleaned from within. Allow the unit to pump out and then flush the toilet.

The macerator had been making horrendous noises and thought it would need an engineer callout. Did a Google search and saw reports that the system may need de-scaling (not something I was aware of as I had only recently bought the house). Was sceptical if it would work but thought it would be cheaper than a callout so worth a try. Ordered the product, received very prompt delivery by courier in the stated timescale. Applied the decsaler as instructed (but did decide to leave it overnight before turning it back on) and it sounds like new. Much much quieter and seems to have done the trick. Will n ow continue to descale it on a regular basis.

What are the usage instructions for this product, for a standard toilet/waste blockage ?

Suitable for a septic tank? If not, can you recommend a product that is?

Yes, this product is suitable for septic tanks.

I bought this product for use on a normal WC unit as I have had poor results from regular descaling products. Could you please advise.

The instructions on the product are for maserator toilets, but this product can be used in normal WC toilets too. Simply pour a small amount (100ml - 200ml) into the toilet pan, and leave 2 - 3 hours (better if it can be left overnight) and then flush the toilet.

The power switch is deep behind a panel in the loft, what's the reduction in effectiveness of the product?

We would Highly recommend that the power switch is off to maximise the contact time during the '2-hour soak. If it is switched on, then it will reduce the contact time and hence reduce the effectiveness as it may pump it out.

Can this product be used in a kitchen sink Macerator to help with bad smell?

No, this is not recommended for use with a kitchen sink.

Can this product be used to clean the shower waste that flows into the macerator?

Yes.
